All continues to go well with Peter. His oncologist from the transplant team and his nurse were in and they are very pleased with how he is doing!
The morphine pump is no more and Peter says the pain in his feet and legs is tolerable. Still some swelling in the feet, but that too seems to be going down.
His eyebrows and moustache are thinning rapidly. He has not been without a moustache since 1971. Our girls have never seen him without one. He keeps a hat or doo-rag on most of the day because he is cold without hair. He has started putting moisturizer on his head so it is not so dry.
Last night (the 6th) was a very good night for him. 6 of his friends from Rotary came to visit. They talked about the usual guy stuff including the trip they all took to the Dominican Republic for Habitat.
Still can't find my camera. Will have to find one to borrow. Several women have said they would shave their heads to match Peters but have something big coming up so they can't. Come on guys - YOU can do It.
Have a great day! I'll try and send more tonight. My stitching group is coming here tonight so I might not get a chance.
Wendy

From Rasik Vagadia (GE ESBWR) Worked for Peter.
I am (we) very glad that you health is progressing very well.
Wendy- your blog is very informative and very in details. How do you have patience to write all and with all this stress. According to my daughter (she is chief resident at Umass general, MA) patient’s family is the one who needs more help mentally and physically than the patient.
I am Indian so we have Diwali and Newyear celebration (similar to X-mas)So we have two X-Mas similar to Peter who has two Birthdays to celebrate!. Peter, Happy Birthday. 2nd life will be more beautiful and enjoyable. Our best wishes and prayers are always with all of you.
Rasik Vagadia and family including GE ESBWR I & C Family.
I know it sounds selfish, but if I shaved my head I think I would cry every day! I'm hoping to donate blood tomorrow during my lunch break (if I have enough iron in my system) and I neglected to mention earlier that I donated money to the NC chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through our "Give with Liberty" campaign at my work (Liberty Mutual). It will come out of my paycheck starting January 1st!!
Glad to hear Uncle Peter is doing much better and I'm still keeping my fingers crossed! Much love to you all :)
Hi you two! It's wonderful to read the blogs, and more wonderful to see the outpouring of support for you both...what a marvel to connect to so many through a blog site! I check it frequently, and look forward to the updates. Peter, Wendy, Heather, and Kim...you are all in my prayers, and I hope you will all be home, soon.
Love from your old (and I do mean old!)neighbor, Lee M.
Wendy & Peter:

Hi Peter and Wendy,
I thought it would be more time consuming to set up a Google account - sorry to just now get back to you both. Thanks for your updates. It's encouraging to hear that things are going well.I agree with Rasik - how wonderful to have two birthdays! Life and counting.
I'm with Jay in Richmond for a few days. He has a conference; I'll be doing a few hours of work tomorrow. We've enjoyed doing some sightseeing. We toured the capitol building yesterday, designed by Thomas Jefferson.
Mainly, I'm enjoying having a short break. Who's idea was it to have three LTRs due on the same day? (Oct. 31)
Training for the Kiawah Full is going full steam ahead. My 18 miler was last Saturday. This weekend I'll do the Battleship Half, then the next weekend is 20 miles.
You are all in my thoughts. I lift you up every time I train. I'm glad the energy is getting through!
More later. Jay is finished for the day. We have to go drink beer.
Diana and Jay
